News   Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 Ships
- Posted By Michael Loewer, 09.25.2001

Monster madness hits U.S. shores and the Game Boy Color as Enix America Inc. today announced that Dragon Warrior Monsters 2: Cobi’s Journey and Dragon Warrior Monsters 2: Tara’s Adventure have shipped to retail outlets nationwide. Already released in Japan, where the titles are known as Dragon Quest Monsters 2, the Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 games have sold more than 1.3 million units to date.

Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 are the sequels to last year’s best-selling Dragon Warrior Monsters game which achieved worldwide sales of more than two million units to date.

Paul Handelman, President of Enix America:

“Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 see the franchise taking an exciting new twist with the introduction of two distinct games that are intrinsically linked via their tradable game-play elements. The added RPG elements and side-quests ensure that Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 are more than just ‘hunt and-collect’ games and should appeal to a broader audience.”

Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 is the story of Cobi and Tara, a brother and sister who move with their family to the island of GreatLog to begin monster farming. But things soon go awry when the mischievous Prince Kameha and his monster sidekick, Warubou, show up and GreatLog begins to sink into the ocean. As either Cobi or Tara, it’s up to players to find and train an army of Dragon Warrior monsters and save the island.

Featuring an engaging RPG story told in the delightful Dragon Warrior style, Dragon Warrior Monsters 2: Cobi’s Journey and Dragon Warrior Monsters 2: Tara’s Adventure are two separate games, each one featuring different worlds, monsters and skills.

Packed with over 300 monsters from 11 monster families, including new monsters from Dragon Warrior VII, in Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 players will need to call upon all their monster taming, breeding and training skills if they are to succeed. Each game incorporates, unique story elements, different monster encounter rates and worlds to explore.

An exciting component of Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 is the ability to join both worlds. Via the Game Link Cable, players can have both worlds converge and in doing so, can:

  • Trade or give away monsters they have found
  • Pit their monsters against their friends’ monsters in all-out Monster Matches
  • Team up with their friends to battle against AI monster teams
  • Trade magic keys to unlock new worlds and scenarios that were previously unavailable

    Enjoy!
