News   Broken Sword for the Game Boy Advance -- First Screenshots
- Posted By Michael Loewer, 09.17.2001

BAM! Entertainment is publishing the stunning graphic adventure Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars for the Game Boy Advance, and is unveiling initial screen shots. Currently in production at UK-based development studio Revolution, the game is due for release in early 2002 and is set to recreate all the essential elements that made the original game a successful European title.

These early shots not only reveal the graphic quality of the game, but also how accurately the locations, puzzles and characters are being recreated from the PC version. BAM! is striving to deliver the same engrossing gaming experience to a hand-held audience. While many features remain the same, including the recreation of the original music by Barrington Phelong, the version will also boast a new interface and control system, tailor made for the Game Boy Advance.

In the game, the lead character George Stobbard is an American in Paris who witnesses the theft of an ancient manuscript and the assassination of its owner. This manuscript was created in the 14th Century by the order of the Knights Templar and points to where their legendary power has been hidden for over six hundred years. Its new owners intend to harness the power for their own sinister agenda.

Here are links to the big ol' huge versions of the screenshots to the right (about 500K for all 12). Remember, folks, these screens are from the Game Boy Advance -- are they beautiful or what?
