News   Jack Sorensen Joins Worldwide Studios
- Posted By Michael Loewer, 08.30.2001

THQ Inc. today announced that Jack Sorensen has joined the company as executive vice president of Worldwide Studios.

Sorensen brings more than 12 years of hi-tech executive business and product development experience to his position, including his position as president of Lucas Arts Entertainment Co.

Jeff Lapin, Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of THQ:

"It is essential that we facilitate our continued growth by seeking key management executives who have a sound understanding of the interactive industry. Jack's tenure at Lucas stretched back from the days of 8-bit Nintendo, through major PC, Nintendo 64 and PlayStation hits, to planning for the next generation of consoles and online games."

As president of Lucas Arts Entertainment Co. for six years, Sorensen managed the company during a period of rapid growth. Before that, he spent his first three years at Lucas Arts managing product development, international and business operations at different times.

For the past year, Sorensen has been president and CEO of Swan Systems Inc., a private software company servicing advertising agencies and corporate marketing brands.

As EVP of Worldwide Studios, Sorensen will oversee each of THQ's six internal development studios including Volition Inc., Pacific Coast Power & Light Co., Cedar Ridge Construction, Genetic Anomalies, Heavy Iron Studios and THQ's Game Boy Advance studio, Helixe. He will also manage THQ's product and studio acquisition activities.
