Star Wars, Star Fox Impressions

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3: Rebel Strike had two more levels hidden in the demo. One was a rescue of Princess Leia from the Death Star, the other let's you play on the moon of Endor. I tried the rescue for about two seconds and quit- it's hard. I'm not sure how the on-foot missions will go. You want to move to avoid shots but there's no lock-on to enemies (that I'm aware of) which makes it hard to shoot back. You can enter a 1st person mode, but it's only for looking- you can't shoot or walk.
I played the bike chase on Endor and it's so fast. It probably wouldn't feel as fast if there weren't so many trees to dodge, but it really is a beautifully lush forest.
By the way, I did have a bum controller when I played yesterday, since I saw other people moving faster today. The build on the floor is pretty glitchy though. I've seen it simply freeze twice, once I got off my Taun-Taun and could only run in place, and today I crashed my bike into a tree and the screen went black, started playing a high-pitched screech, and the controller wouldn't stop shaking. Oh well, it gave me a chance to talk to one of the gorgeous Nintendo ladies.
On to StarFox, it's true that the game looks awful at this stage, but it's really fun! The multi-player mission available is basically a mech-shooter (Nintendo loyalists, see: every Xbox game but Halo.). Fox, Peppy, Falco, and Crystal run around a futuristic city with Arwings and tanks to get into, trying to shoot each other. It's not confined like a 1st person shooter, so you have a big open field to kill each other.
The media center is closing so look for more tomorrow.
