News   F-Zero GX
- Posted By Eric Tajchman, 05.15.2003

What seems to be another just F-Zero title is anything but. Perhaps it is even the pinnacle the series has gone or will go. Who knows? But no matter what, you cannot deny the sheer awesome intensity this game brigns.

The most exciting aspect of F-Zero GX would be, of course, the outrageously high speeds on inconceivable twists, bends, loops, spirals and jumps of the visual eye-candy that is a raceway. The fact that you are travelng at over 1500 km/h is only enhaced by skyscrapers, rivers, mountains whizzing by you, whether it be above or below you.

The character AI is almost ideal for a game of this calibur. The other CPU-controlled drivers were challenging and difficult, but not overly difficult, and it goes to show that the other drivers are professional enough to give you a run for your money. However, if you do't want to start off battling for a top position, or you know you could handle so much more, the game also includes a Novice and Expert mode to compliment the Standard difficulty.

Controls are tight, and making sharp 90-degree corners without slamming into the wall traveling at supersonic speeds is simple once you've mastered them, a process that takes but a lap or two. There are over 20 machines, and each has its respective strengths and weaknesses, and unlcking new cars and drivers is half the fun. The other half would be ulocking new courses for you to blur through while trying to maintain a lead and battling off foes at every turn, invert, and corkscrew.

This is definitely one title that you need to keep an eye on, so keep heading back here and we'll have more on it soon.
