News   McDonald's Offers Some GameCube Lovin'
- Posted By Lander Clinton, 04.08.2003

Today I happened to go into a new McDonald's that opened in a local mall. The outside looked totally different from the usual fast food joint, and I noticed some stations with TV screens in them.

I had heard that "Mickey D's" (as hip people like me call it) was going to start offering internet cafe-style kiosks for people who want to poison their minds with NGenres while poisoning their bodies with salty foods. When I went over to the screens though, I noticed each one had two GameCube controllers coming out for people to play for free! The controllers were a bit greasy, but it didn't matter since these were no store demos- they were just GameCubes set up with full games to play. Besides, greasy McDonald's controllers are way better than NGenres President Tariq Bashir's incriminatingly sticky N64 controllers.

The games available to play were Super Monkey Ball, Spider-Man, a golf game, one I didn't recognize, and two stations were turned off. The best part was each station looked different and they were all over the restaurant. The one up front had 3 games and was at an adult's height, another had one game and was lower for a child, and the two that were turned off were a sit-down station for anyone to play, so McDonald's definitely isn't one of the "Nitendo=kiddy" Nintendo bashers. They probably had the sit-down one turned off to discourage people from eating right over the controllers.

If you haven't been to a McDonald's recently, see if the one by you has some free games to play, and don't forget that the Happy Meal toys this summer are all from Sega games! I want the monkey ball that looks like Pres. Bush- you know the one...
