News   RE: Resident Evil
- Posted By Lander Clinton, 04.04.2003

Conflicting reports about Capcom's exclusive GameCube games are coming from Japan. Japan's Nikkei Industrial Newspaper released a report yesterday stating that Capcom was reevaluating its exclusive GameCube support because of lower profits than expected. I guess Capcom spent millions making the GameCube Resident Evil sequels look just like authentic Playstation games...

Today, Capcom's website said "In line with our announcement on September 13, 2001, we have no current plans to bring Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil, two titles currently in release for the GameCube, to other platforms. Also, with regards to Resident Evil 4, which is currently undergoing development, we plan on releasing the game as a GameCube title." The statement leads you to believe that all three titles mentioned are GameCube exclusives, but that was not clear for Resident Evil 4 or the many other Capcom games currently in development for GameCube. As long as none of the titles are canceled for GameCube and released on other systems, we still have much to look forward to.
