News   Virtua Fighter Quest in 2003
- Posted By Francis Bonnet, 01.08.2003

AM2, the Sega in-house development team responsible for the creation of the Virtua Fighter franchise, has announced that they still plan to release Virtua Fighter Quest on Gamecube before the end of 2003.

The original Virtua Fighter was released in Japanese arcades in December of 1993 and AM2 would really like to have VFQ available in time for the series' 10 year anniversary.

Although not much is known about the title it will presumably be an action/adventure title featuring characters from Virtua Fighter. An interesting side-note is that Sega's Shenmue was originally developed as a Virtua Fighter adventure series until it was changed later on in development to its current incarnation. Perhaps VFQ will be similar in style to Shenmue? Although that is merely speculation, the only actual fact we have about the game is that Makoto Osaki, a previous co-director for AM2, will be in charge of the game's development.
