News   New Gamecube Pokemon in 2003
- Posted By Francis Bonnet, 01.03.2003

Japanese gaming publication Nikkei Net has reported that Nintendo has announced that a new Pokemon game would be released for Gamecube this summer in Japan. Although a U.S. release has yet been announced, it's a safe bet that Nintendo will want to have it ready by the time the holiday season of 2003 rolls around. Also, in what I think of as a cheap move, Nintendo has also announced that the game will be impossible to play unless you already own at least one of the Pokemon Gameboy Advance games, Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire, both which have yet to see a U.S. release.

Just in case you're thinking that the Pokemon Gamecube game will be that Meowth's Party demo that was previewed two years ago at the E3 show, think again - it was reported almost a year ago that Meowth's Party was merely a tech demo. All the information that is known about the new Gamecube Pokemon game is listed in the above paragraph... so as you can see, there isn't much.
