News   Gaming Humor and Guide Reviews
- Posted By Michael Loewer, 08.01.2001

For those that don't know (which should be most of you), NGenres.com has recently hooked up with Strategy Guide publishers Brady Games and Prima Games to bring you Strategy Guide Reviews.

We at NGenres decided that Strategy Guides deserve some attention. A multitude of companies produce guides for the same games, and some of them are bound to be of better quality than others. Sure, guides aren't as expensive as games, but why blow $10-20 on a guide that sucks, if a better one is available?

Unfortunately, right before we were to start posting the first Guide Reviews, a bug or two was found in the scripting that prevented publication. Fear not, the error should be fixed very soon, since CEO Tariq Bashir seems to literally dream code.

In the meantime, here's a short list of upcoming Guide Reviews to look forward to:

  • Conker's Bad Fur Day
  • Pokemon Stadium 2
  • Dragon Warrior I&II
  • Dragon Warrior III

As for the humor spoken of earlier, here's a link to the new issue of theOnion released just today:

See, the article is even more hilarious since it spotlights a Playstation character--and, you know, Sony sucks, and stuff.

That's all for this public service announcement, except for one thing: you may have already noticed we've recently put up one of those Amazon/Paypal donation deals on the main page. For the love of Nintendo, if you've got a ton of extra cash in the bank account and you're an avid reader of NGenres, make a donation so we don't all starve to death. We're going to begin sponsoring contests soon, and if you want them rigged in your favor...well, you know what to do.
