News   Zelda Ad With Harry Potter
- Posted By Lander Clinton, 11.19.2002

Movie-goers every where this weekend caught a glimpse of everyone's favorite cel-shaded game, The Legend of Zelda: Kaze no takuto (I'm using the only official name I have, okay?) when they saw "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets." By the way, does anyone else think the movie was a blatant rip-off of Nintendo's Fred Savage-aganza, "The Wizard?" I mean, not having seen The Wizard, I can only assume it was about wizards.

Although the game footage was previously released and in fact the whole ad was already available on the internet, only us dorks were mouthing out the lines when we saw it on the big screen. The ad features a girl with a British accent who's supposed to be Link's sister, standing in a big gothic castle at night. She talks about the legend of Link, and then quickly reveals the surprise ending to Harry Potter, just so everyone remembers the ad out of hatred (we find out Darth Vader is Harry's father).

The game footage had to be blown up considerably and unfortunately looked a little blurry, hopefully Nintendo will also give the game incredible T.V. ad support.
