News   Just In Case You Forgot

One year ago today Nintendo released its GameCube console to US stores, and all was right in the land of videogames.

Two years after speculation began on "N2000," "N200X," "Nintendo 65," "Super Nintendo 64," "Dolphin," "StarCube," or Nintendo's own tentative title, "The Next Generation Nintendo Console," GameCube launched with Nintendo's most impressive line-up ever.

There may have been no real Mario game, but that didn't stop Nintendo fans around the country from containing high-pitched screams (and sometimes not) when they reached the front of the line to pick up their new system, which, unlike initial Xboxes, didn't break down right out of the box.

For anyone not able to pick one up yet, go get the limited edition Platinum GameCube released to commemorate this first anniversary.
