News   Gamecube on Smallville
- Posted By Francis Bonnet, 10.16.2002

If you haven't seen the TV series, "Smallville", then you're definitely missing some high-quality programming. For those of you who don't know, Smallville follows the adventures of a young Clark Kent before he became Superman. So basically we have a teenage boy with raging hormones and super powers trying as hard as he can to blend in with the rest of his Smallville High classmates. But as Clark's powers continue to develop, it becomes harder for him to keep his "secret."

Last night's episode, entitled "Red", featured Clark's first exposure to red kryptonite. Now we all know that green kryptonite can hurt or even kill Clark, but red kryptonite turns him into a bad guy. And what does a rebelious Clark Kent do when exposed to red kyryptonite? Why, he maxes out his parents credit cards and fills his room with all kinds of expensive toys, of course! In addition to buying a jetski, a $1,000 coat, a new stereo, and a 65-inch Plasma TV, Clark also decides that his gaming system of choice is Gamecube! Yep folks, for that brief 1.6 seconds of air time you can see that Clark is sitting in a chair with a purple Gamecube controller in his hand. This just goes to show that if Superman, the most powerful man on Earth, chooses Gamecube as his console of choice... what is everyone else on the planet waiting for? Time to burn those Xbox's and PS2's because this time, it's Nintendo who's super!

If you want to catch an episode of Smallville, it airs on the WB network every Tuesday night at 9pm Eastern. Check your local listings just to make sure. In addition, I am not a freak.
