News   NCL Chooses A Title For Zelda
- Posted By Lander Clinton, 10.16.2002

Nintendo of Japan announced the name of the next console Zelda game today, which is surprisingly titled "The GameCube Zelda Game."

Okay, I made that up. Right now it's officially "Zelda no densetsu: kaze no takuto," which means "The Legend of Zelda: Wind's Takuto," or "Wind of Takuto" or maybe even the expression "Tacking into the Wind." I've only seen it written in Roman characters so I don't know if Takuto is supposed to be a Japanese word or not. For example, the Japanese word for ocarina was phonetically okarina.

The game is said to focus a lot on wind currents, so much so that many puzzles require Link to use the wind.

Nintendo of America loves to delay Zelda-related stuff so don't expect a name from them for a while...

(Now I'm just egging them on- prove me wrong!)
