A recent survey on www.game-research.com/consulting asked professional videogame players several questions, one of which was whether or not they'd be willing to watch videogame matches on television.

Most of them were very enthusiastic about the idea, obviously, since they have a love of their craft, but this may pave the way for games to become even more high-profile than they already are.

With the videogame network G4 already available in many areas and industry analysists pointing at videogames to be the main source of entertainment for this century, a bigger presence on television is inevitable.

Perhaps some day massive online games will be broadcast on a station for half an hour or so before switching games, and anyone can join in. Those not wanting to play could have control of their own personal camera to view the action how they want.

What games would make good television games? Animal Crossing? Probably not. Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee? Hell yeah! We all know nothing would beat Pong- with TWO real players!
