News   Star Fox To Indeed Be A Rare Game
- Posted By Lander Clinton, 09.11.2002

Several sources are running rumors of Rare being bought by Microsoft soon for £250-£350 million.

Rumors include that the next game in the Perfect Dark series will be exclusive to the Xbox, although Travis Coats from NSports spoke with a Nintendo representative at E3 who said all Rare characters are owned by Nintendo. It's quite possible that it would be an un-official sequel with the same gameplay, just as Perfect Dark was to Goldeneye 007.
Rare's Star Fox Adventures will be released this month exclusively for the GameCube, and could quite possibly be the last Rare game for Nintendo, unless it continues its support for the GBA (which Microsoft itself supports).

It should be noted that Microsoft has tons of money yet few good games, which is why it tried to buy Nintendo last year for five times the company's worth, and Nintendo turned down the offer.

We'll have more on this story should it be more than a rumor.
