News   Nintendo and 7-Eleven Join Forces
- Posted By Eric Tajchman, 07.31.2002

What can only be considered one of the more unusual business alliances, Nintendo and 7-Eleven have partnered to bring Nintendo merchandise into all 7-Eleven convenience stores in Japan. All Japanese 7-Eleven stores will sell GameCube hardware and software, and Japanese consumers can order merchandise online and pick it up at the local 7-Eleven.

Editor’s Note: The reasoning behind this partnership is confounding. Though the GameCube will be sold in countless stores across Japan, not many people go to 7-Eleven and decide to buy a console system. I really want to see how this turns out, and if it’s successful enough, we might even see are own 7-Eleven’s selling GameCube merchandise.
