News   New Kirby Site
- Posted By Lander Clinton, 07.26.2002

I went to nintendo.com to look for news and a poll asked my opinion of the new Kirby site. I was flattered that they specifically asked me, but I found no link to the site. I looked around on the main page and pulled down a menu with links to game sites but still couldn't find one for everyone's favorite "marshmallow dream."

That's when I typed www.kirby.com in to my URL bar- it was worth a shot, right? It took me to a site for vaccuum cleaners, but since Kirby likes to inhale stuff, I thought it was a big joke from Nintendo. The little flash movie didn't help either, telling me that Kirby (the vaccuum) sucks up more than dirt. Eventually it became clear that Nintendo wouldn't take a pun that far, although we all remember the fake web sites for Perfect Dark.

I tried www.nintendo.com/kirby and found the official page, but it was little more than a "coming soon!" page, which was a very un-Nintendo-like pun, considering my "marshmallow dream" comment (hold for disgusting realization...).

After all this, what did I tell the poll? Nothing, I forgot to go back there. I guess it has potential, but that wasn't an option.

------------

EIC Note: I did some searching, and found the link to the new Kirby page after reloading the Nintendo homepage multiple times. The link appeared as the main graphic on that page, but since that graphic appears randomly after each page load, it may or may not appear when you visit Nintendo.com. The correct URL is: www.kirbykirbykirby.com.
