News   Booty-licious
- Posted By Lander Clinton, 07.18.2002

Datel will soon release an international boot disc for GameCube.

The disc, called the Freeloader, will allow players to put any country's GameCube disc in their system and get around the lock-outs.

It is unknown whether the boot disc will allow bootleg games to be played, but why wouldn't it? Even in you can't write to your own mini-discs, it would be feasable enough to import a Qube from Japan and make copies of games on normal DVDs.

The Dreamcast had a major problem with piracy. I know several people who downloaded hundreds of DC games, and one who never bought a single game for the system. Nintendo went to great lengths to stop piracy and it seems that game pirates collectively said, "oh yeah?" That was right before they said "ARRR, mateys!"

Of course, the pirates' parrots plagiarized with pirate-parodies, such as "QUUU, mateys!"

Just ignore that last part. The Freeloader is expected to ship on August 5th.
