News   Help Daisy the Dog
- Posted By Michael Loewer, 07.12.2002

The following cry for help is completely unrelated to gaming in any way. We at NGenres.com are simply trying to do our part to help out, along with tens of thousands of others at Fark.com and Ehowa.com.

------------------

The fact of the matter is, some people are completely sick bastards and have no right being allowed to breathe.

Around the first of July, a dog by the name of Daisy was walking around her neighborhood in North Texas. She ended up in the yard of a 50 year-old subhuman who didn't like stray dogs on his lawn. Instead of simply shoooing it away or calling the Humane Society, he doused it in gasoline and set it on fire.

The dog was finally subdued and the flames were extinguished. Obviously, however, you can imagine the damage done to the weaker tissues around the ears, eyes, and especially legs, which were badly burned.

Daisy is now at a 24-hour veterinary care office hired by the Humane Society of North Texas. They had a case similar to this back in 1997 and the bills hit around $8,000.

Luckily, in the no more than three days since Earnie from Earnie's House of Whoop Ass and Fark.com began donating, over $10,000 has already been donated. The number is $10,300, to be exact, as of 5pm yesterday, and Ernie is keeping track of every single donator and their amount. Daisy's health is continuing to improve, and every dollar helps.

Visit Earnie's House of Whoop Ass to read about the story and donate. For a more direct link, go straight to the Daisy Page. Donations can be made through PayPal or check -- again, go to either of the above pages to get started.

I've donated $10. The rest of our staff has begun donations as well. How about you?

Editor-in-Chief Michael Loewer, out.
