News   New Sonic Adventure Game Not New
- Posted By Eric Tajchman, 07.03.2002

Two days ago, we reported that two new Sonic the Hedgehog games are set to release for the GameCube, one a Sonic Mega Collection, and the other a brand new Sonic Adventure. According to IGN, there was a miscommunication between the Japan headquarters and the U.S. It seems as if the “new” Sonic Adventure game headed to the Purple Cube is actually a remake of the original Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast. Other than that, the rest of the press release is accurate.

Sega did not say what changes, if any, will be made to the title.

So we will get no new Sonic Adventure on the GameCube. At least, not yet. This does pave the road to a possible Sonic exclusivity on the GameCube, as both the first and second games have appeared solely for the GameCube (barring the Dreamcast, of course).
