News   LEGO and EA, sittin' in a tree...
- Posted By Lander Clinton, 12.11.2001

"Lego" my... non-co-publishing deal with Electronic Arts. If that was confusing, just watch old waffle commercials.

The Denmark-based Lego company announced today a deal with Electronic Arts, the leading third-party game company, to co-publish Lego's software for three years.

This software includes Lego Racers, Lego Bionicle, Lego Island, Academy of Flight, Lego Sports and Galidor: Defenders of the Outer Dimension. Many of Lego's games are for the pc, but the company does make games for Nintendo's Game Boy systems.

Interestingly, a few years ago Electronic Arts formed a deal with Squaresoft in which both companies get a cut of each other's games. Lego blocks are rectangular, squares are also rectangular, cubes are rectangular too. What does all this mean? Nothing, I've wasted your time, but the evidence clearly shows that SQUARESOFT WILL DEFINITELY BE MAKING GAMES FOR GAMECUBE, providing you're not good at thinking.
