Editorials   My Dilemma
- By Lander Clinton

Okay, here's the deal. The last game I've gotten for every home Nintendo system has always been the third game of a trilogy I owned, AND I got it after getting the next Nintendo system.

After I got the SNES, I got Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 for NES, I got Donkey Kong Country 3 for SNES after getting N64, and my last game for N64 was Turok 3, which I got after getting GameCube.

Here's the problem, I'm guessing Sega will show a Super Monkey Ball 3 at E3, and if not, I'm sure one is in the works. Yet GameCube is no where near being gone, and its successor is several years off. Should I get SMB3 when it comes out and hope that there's another trilogy to be completed for GameCube, or should I hold out and get SMB3 later? I know I'm crazy, but it's tradition! I held out for Turok 3 since I didn't forsee any other trilogy for N64 that I was going to get. Also, what if Sega makes a Super Monkey Ball 4? Damn them for knowing how much I love those games!

There could always be a third GameCube Rogue Squadron, and perhaps some more Zeldas and Metroids and Marios, but who knows if a whole trilogy? All of my former trilogies are game series that began on their systems, and the games I just named go way back. Donkey Kong is arguable but Donkey Kong Country is not. Oh, and don't give me that Turok: Rage Wars crap- Turok 3 was labeled Turok 3 and the best levels from Rage Wars were included in T3 (I call it that to be hip). So what do you think, will there be any other trilogies for GameCube? I hear we may be getting a whole slew of Grand Theft Auto games around the same time, but I doubt I'd get more than one.

Maybe Pikmin will get a third outing around the end of GameCube and I can get SMB3 when it comes out...
