Is "Is GameCube Nintendo's Last Console?" Francis Bonnett's Last NGenres Story?- Clarified

Dude, yes I don't like that kind of talk, but really I just wanted to make sure there was an update on the site. The main reason I replied to your editorial was because I liked typing my long title so much. It was even better this time with an extra word!
I would like to point out that Microsoft's billions seem to fizzle out every year as they face stronger (though not really strong) competition from Apple (which has a "cool" image compared with Microsoft's "evil empire" one) as well as anti-trust lawsuits. Nintendo is actually going through an anti-trust lawsuit now in Europe, so I guess Microsoft doesn't have a monopoly on those...
Microsoft's billions go for a lot more than just the Xbox, just as Sony makes more than the Playstation, but a few years ago the PSX accounted for 40% of all of Sony's profits, which I think contributed to Bill Gates wanting to delve into the videogame industry so much.
What made the Windows operating system the computer "of choice" was really videogames as I understand it. Apple was king in the 1980s, with pictoral interfaces that Microsoft would get credit for with Windows '95. Then Steve Jobs left Apple and some poor management decided that computers were meant for business, not games, and also decentralized Macintosh hardware- making Mac products that wouldn't even work with each other, let alone other computers.
Ever since Steve Jobs decided he's cool enough for Pixar AND Apple, the company has been back on track.
Speaking of new management, don't forget Satoru Iwata is now head of NCL, and is probably more in touch with consumer needs than crusty ol' Hiroshi Yamauchi (who made Nintendo a good kind of evil empire). It's a little strange watching the credits of Animal Crossing on a Saturday nights and seeing Iwata's name as the Executive Producer (uh, setting the clock to Saturday nights, of course, it's not like I'm home then (nervous laughter)), but I'm sure things will change, especially since he's probably used to working with a team to make decisions.
Here's an example of a typical Nintendo board meeting:
1. Let Capcom make new Zelda games
2. Let Sega do F-Zero
3. Give Namco the next Starfox shooter
4. Sell Rare
5. DECIDE WHAT TO GET FOR LUNCH!!!!!!!!
5a. Should we get Japanese again?
Microsoft tried to buy Nintendo for five times the company's worth last year, so Nintendo's obviously stubborn enough to stay in the hardware business for a long time, even if it means just releasing the latest Game Boy...
