Everything Or Nothing: All Or No Impressions
- By Lander

That would be all impressions, just in case you were worried this would be an empty story with no impressions.
Since it's leap day I figured I should update NGenres- two things that happen once every four years (except on century marks that aren't divisible by 400, so don't expect an update in the year 2100).
So what better way to celebrate this leap day than by giving impressions of the latest Bond game? Because, he leaps and stuff...
Anyway, we're in a cartoon- it doesn't have to make sense.
If you're a James Bond fan, you need to know nothing more than to buy this game, right now. I'm not even a huge Bond fan and I find this game absolutely exhilarating. Unlike first-person Bonds where you're supposed to be inhabiting 007's body, this game lets you drift behind him and makes you feel MORE like you're really Bond than when you're looking out of his own eyes.
Some have said that EA's Everything or Nothing is the best game since Rare's Goldeneye. I say it's the best, period. Everything or Nothing is so much more a complete Bond experience, and it has no movie to base itself on. Superficially it has an all-star cast including Pierce Brosnan, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Mya, Heidi Klum, Shannon Elizabeth, John Cleese, and more. Mya even performs the opening title music. More importantly though, you get a whole 007 story, with the crazy Russian guy trying to take over the world, the good Bond girl/bad Bond girl dynamic, the gizmos and gadgets that you must use sometimes, or can use extra times to outsmart your opponents, the sexual innuendos and puns, the vehicles- it's all here, and it's better than most James Bond movies!
The third-person perspective makes Bond look much more real on the screen, instead of, say, a floating gun. Bond will react to his environment, like falling over from a nearby blast or clinging to a wall for cover during a shootout. These are things you just can't do in first-person mode.
Also better than a first-person game is the great variety of missions you'll be faced with. Rapel down a burning building, race a bike down a freeway (on the opposing traffic lane if you want), jump off a cliff to catch a falling girl, sneak past guards and cameras, pilot a helicopter, get on a speeding train, fight hand-to-hand combat, drive a tank, jump across rooftops on your bike, escape from the classic laser-beam-going-to-slice you scenario. You can even give a woman a massage who thinks you're her masseur. First person games are fun, but they're mostly walk and shoot.
The one thing first person games offer that EA didn't get quite right is the multiplayer experience, but who cares? There are many great multiplayer games available for GameCube. If you're looking for the ultimate multiplayer games, go for Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles or Mario Kart: Double Dash!! As a single-player game, Everything or Nothing clocks in at much longer than any Bond movie, and is really much more satisfying than most of them. If you like Bond or just good action, you can't be disappointed by Everything or Nothing.
